Chairpersons
I’m sure that God had held my hand
The day I joined the merry band.
What joy, what fun, all those years,
Plenty of rain, and very few tears.
Theresa said "Treat me as mother,
Take my hand, leave ‘Drew’ the other".
Josephine, she watched the till,
I loved her then, I love her still.
Douglas, he was next in line,
A Lawyer, never charged a dime,
His workforce bordered on sublime.
Isobel, Fiona and Josephine,
Thev gave us years of Yeoman service,
Our hearts they broke, the day they left us.
The next chairman stood the test,
The ladies loved him the best.
His reign was short but very sweet,
Eric you are one we loved to meet.
Pandemonium throughout the nation
When Eric signed his resignation.
But all was saved by our friend Jim,
We soon had confidence in him.
Even that day amongst the snow,
There was not one who would not go.
Jim now takes a well earned rest,
His Committee too, one of the best.
New faces now are to the fore,
Kenny, Elizabeth, Bill, Christine and more.
Our Club’s good health, it’s plain to see,
Has always depended on it’s Committee.
So may God bless our lovely club,
And who’s all going to the pub.
