The barbecue was another great success, 24 attended and the weather was good.

The sail at Loch Katrine was also a good day despite low numbers. Liz mentioned that it was probably too early in the morning and also the café wasn’t open. Think about different suggestions for next year, possibly Tarbet (Loch Lomond).

Names are currently being taken for the navigation course in October / November.

The article in the "Airdrie Advertiser" was very good. Jim prepared the article and there was a good picture from the Lake District.

Discussion took place re social events for the Winter. It was decided to have a 70s / 80s disco, probably in February, in place of the ceilidh and to have a ceilidh for St. Andrew's night in 2009. This will give enough time to find an alternative ceilidh band. Liz knows of a ceilidh band and will find out the price.

A bowling night will be arranged and the Christmas party night has been booked for Friday 12 December at the same price as the last two years of £40. A bus will be put on again.

"Awards for All" funding is available to the club but Jay mentioned that the constitution will have to be altered to mention our charitable status. He will contact Barry Pottle or Liz Lawie to discuss.

The Winter programme has been started and leaders are to be invited to the next committee meeting to discuss walk dates. A sheet for suggestions for walks has been passed around the bus.
