COMMITTEE MINUTES FROM TUESDAY 14 AUGUST 2007
IN THE "IMPERIAL BAR", AIRDRIE AT 7.15PM
Present : Jay Hunt, Liz Cushley, Christine McMahon, Ken Paton, Douglas Bryson, Fiona Thomson, James Muir, John Young
Apologies : David Dunn, Willie Murphy
The barbecue was a great day out and location should also be used next year as the area was excellent and near the beach with a children’s play area nearby.
Due to some poor turnouts this year, Douglas has suggested we obtain email addresses from members and a reminder email re walks and social events could be submitted. Jim is prepared to send out the emails once collected.
There is still no leader for the easier walk in the Lake District. Jim has suggested he takes the easier walk and hopefully we can find a leader for Helvellyn nearer the time.
John produced draft of the winter programme which was discussed and committee chose their walks to lead. Programme will be finalised by next meeting.
Social events for winter were discussed. It was decided to have the Bowling Night on Friday 19 October, a tribute night for Robert (country & western) which Jay will find out about on Friday 16 November, the Xmas Party night is on Friday 14 December and the Ceilidh will be held in February 2008.
It was also suggested that the social events be typed in the actual programme instead of on a separate sheet.
Some members have been enquiring about the Navigation Course. It was decided to organise the next course in February 2008. John and Ken will organise this.
