COMMITTEE MINUTES FROM MONDAY 4 MARCH 2002
IN AIRDRIE LIBRARY AT 7PM
Present : Pat Malone, Ken Paton, Christine McMahon, Jim Muir, John Young, Jackie Ford, Elizabeth Evans, Jay Hunt, John Jamieson, Kenny Weldon
The ceilidh was a great success with a profit of £206.30 made. It was decided that a bigger hall be used for next year.
The SYHA City Chambers ceilidh is on Friday 8 March. Christine will phone round to see if anyone wishes to attend.
There are 10 people going to Knoydart at Easter. There are two places available.
Jackie has some names for the ski trip, but it may not go ahead due to lack of snow and may be left until next year.
The navigation course was held on Tuesday 26 February and tomorrow Tuesday 5 March with a day on the hills on Sunday 11 March, with 2 groups of 3.
Pat and family attended the Area Council Meeting on 16 February. One of the issues was that all clubs use Unity Trust Banking which gives better profit rates for clubs, but requires two separate accounts for the RA and Social. It was decided to wait until Ken had received official confirmation about this.
Jay is attending Scottish Council on 23/24 March, and is looking for one other to go with him.
Jim mentioned that the website had crashed and had taken 7 days to restore. He set up a temporary website meantime. It was decided to stay with the same website in the hope that this doesn’t happen again.
Another Access Forum Meeting will be held on Saturday 9 March. Jay will attend.
The form has been received from Fife Council to fill in for the barbecue at St Andrews. Elizabeth will lead the walk.
The Community Grant was discussed. Pat will fill in the forms for this.
The summer programme was discussed. Leaders are still required. John and Ken will finalise the programme between them.
Jim mentioned that the club minutes can now be put on the website. It was decided this would be OK but to leave the financial report off.
