COMMITTEE MINUTES FROM MONDAY 3 MARCH
2003
IN AIRDRIE LIBRARY AT 7PM
Present
: Jay Hunt, Ken Paton, John Jamieson, James Muir, John Young,
Pat Malone
Apologies : Kenny Weldon, Christine McMahon, Patricia McMullen
Approved : James Muir Seconded : John Young
Jay has booked 12 places at the hostel for the Easter Weekend break to Ullapool.
All places are taken at present.
Jay will attend the Scottish Council at Blairgowrie. The question of whether a visitor from
outside the group could attend was discussed. It was decided that since no one from the group was
interested then this visitor could attend and the group would cover half of the cost.
John Young has almost completed the Summer Programme and will E-Mail to Ken when all leaders
have been arranged.
John Jamieson indicated that enquiries had been made at Motherwell Library regarding walking
groups in the area. The library personnel know of Monklands Group and the web site but do not have any
contact numbers. James Muir will put his telephone number on the web site to provide a first contact
for anyone showing interest. John has also made enquiries regarding two way radios and has indicated
that a grant may be available from U.V.A.F. for their purchase.
John Jamieson also asked if a letter could be sent to the The Living Well Health Club and Tiso to
express the group's thanks for their donations to the ceilidh raffle.
Summer Social Events - Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Summer Ceilidh (probably a Friday night due to
walks being every week), Ten Pin Bowling.
All these events are suggestions and will have to be checked for availability and interest.
