John J mentioned the two-way radios and has had a poor response from the supplier who was going to give us a loan of radios before we purchased them. It was decided to forget this supplier and Ken will contact Mike Ward who knows of another supplier.

Jay mentioned the Scottish Council stating one of the topics was the future of the Ramblers Association. A document will be issued shortly re waymarking for the future for all clubs to look over for comments and action.

Jay also advised of the discussion re the pace of walks as this was never mentioned before a walk starts. It was decided that it would not be worthwhile pursuing this. Ken will send John the leaders notes to be updated, adding that leaders should try and establish if a newcomer is fit for a particular walk.

Ken passed round the draft copy of the Summer programme. Some small changes to be made and this will be printed out for submission on the next walk, or they will all be posted before Easter.

Social events for the Summer will just be mentioned on the bus and placed in the “Advertiser”. Ken suggested we have a ceilidh on St. Andrew’s night in November and put the February ceilidh forward. Ken will check if the band will be available for then.

Kenny also mentioned the Military Tattoo. A sheet will be passed round the next walk to see how much interest there is as this will have to be booked quickly.

John J asked Jay why the success of the ceilidh wasn't mentioned before in the "Advertiser". Jay will contact Jim to ensure this is put in for future ceilidhs.

Easter weekend has been booked for 12 people at Ullapool hostel.

The meetings will be held in the library from now on.
