Approved : Liz Cushley Seconded : Jay Hunt

The date for the Annual Ceilidh has been confirmed as Saturday 24th February 2007 and the Town Hall and Benachally Band have been booked.

The proposed visit to the Aviemore Walking Festival was discussed and it was decided that the date will be confirmed when we have more information about the walks and Social Events on offer. Ken will contact the organizers and arrange to get information as soon as it becomes available.

Jay is working on the next newsletter and should have it ready to go out with the Winter Programme which is almost complete.

Willie raised the subject of shorter walks again and asked if Jim Muir could place advert in the local paper to advertise these walks. The walks could also be included in Jay’s newsletter. Willie will try to suggest some suitable walks.

Some discussion took place regarding the buses for the Winter Programme and it was decided that we would book the 33 seat bus for all the walks. It was felt that by asking for prices for various sizes of bus meant that we were not getting a confirmed booking of any particular bus until David phoned during the week leading up to a walk. This meant that on some occasions we had to take a larger bus than was required because it was all that was left and which incurred extra expense.

David has received a price of £270.00 for a bus for the Christmas Party Night at Newtonmore. This was felt to be reasonable although we would have to cover the Driver’s accommodation. This could be covered by the free place which the group get due to the numbers attending. Christine will confirm how many people will want to use the bus which will enable us to work out a price per head.

Jay suggested attending the Kilsyth Summer Festival next year and it was decided to investigate further closer to the time.

Social events were discussed and it was decided to have the following :-

Ten Pin Bowling – Friday 17th November
Christmas Party Night – Friday 15th December
Ghost Walk and Meal in Edinburgh – date to be advised – Liz Cushley will check out cost and dates
Annual Ceilidh – Saturday 24th February 2007

The subject of Committee Expense was raised and it was decided that we should continue paying these similar to last year:-

Proposed – Ken Paton,
Seconded – John Young.

Some discussion also took place regarding Recce Expenses. David suggested that we should pay 10p per mile and that the Leader should not pay the Bus Fare on the walk day.

Ken raised the subject of Committee Members as the AGM is approaching fast.

Ken does not wish to do the Walks Programme next year although he is prepared to type up the programme and prepare laminated maps as required. John Young offered to take the Walks Convenor position for 2007.

Everyone else was happy to continue with their current positions.
