The view in the picture is towards Meall Meadhonach, the secondary summit of Suilven. The ascent of Suilven was one of the toughest walks ever attempted by the Monklands Ramblers and involved a 12 mile round-trip walk to the base of the mountain from the village of Lochinver. The climb itself included an ascent of a 60 degree slope in a narrow gully for over 1000 feet. However, the views from the top, as the picture shows, were fantastic and well worth the effort! The Suilven climb was part of the walks itinerary for the Easter 2004 weekend based at Ullapool.
