Spring Outdoor Access Festival 20th March 2005
The Antonine
Walkway Trust in partnership with
North Lanarkshire Council and other outdoor recreational bodies, including
Riding, Running, Walking, Canoeing and Cycling organisations, will be launching
the newly published Scottish Outdoor
Access Code on Sunday 20 March 2005
from 10 am to 3 pm at Auchinstarry, near Croy,
in
The festival has four main aims :

To celebrate the
enjoyment of the outdoors
·
To promote
awareness of the new rights and responsibilities of the Scottish Outdoor Access
Code to a range of audiences
·
To encourage
people to enjoy the outdoors responsibly through the provision of information
about their access rights and pointers to the type of behaviour that
sensitively reflects the needs of others and the environment
·
To encourage
landowners, farmers and other land managers to think about how they can extend
their welcome to people and how they might best manage access on their land and
water assets
Walks Programme :
·
11am to 3 pm : The Roman / Ramblers walk
·
11am to 12.30 pm : walk the Antonine
wall
·
1 pm to 3 pm : walk the Antonine
wall
We hope to involve as many people as possible and
everyone will be made welcome regardless of ability although children must be
accompanied by adults.
This is an open invitation to take part whether you
are a countryside user or not, so why not come along and enjoy a day out in the
information on the event

if you are going on the long walk from 11am till 3pm then a packed lunch and suitable
